“Goa-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express Set to Revolutionize Travel with Inaugural Run on June 3”
The eagerly awaited Goa-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express is all set to embark on its inaugural journey from Madgaon junction on June 3. With an early morning departure from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), the train will leave Madgaon in the afternoon and arrive at CSMT the same day, well before midnight, once regular services commence from June 4.
Designed with eight coaches, the Vande Bharat Express will make 11 halts along its 586 km route, covering the distance in under eight hours. This semi high-speed marvel will significantly reduce travel time between Mumbai and Goa by over an hour, offering passengers a faster and more convenient journey.

Compared to the current fastest train on the route, the Tejas Express, the Vande Bharat Express will prove to be even swifter. An official explained that the Vande Bharat Express boasts superior acceleration and deceleration capabilities, resulting in substantial time savings. However, it is anticipated that Vande’s fares may be slightly higher than those of Tejas.
To mark this momentous occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will remotely flag off the Goa-Mumbai train from New Delhi. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Goa’s Chief Minister will be present at Madgaon to witness the event.

Currently, the Tejas Express departs from CSMT at 5:50 am and reaches Madgaon at 2:40 pm. On its return journey, it leaves Madgaon at 3:15 pm, arriving at CSMT at 11:55 pm. Refer to the accompanying schedule graphic for the detailed itinerary of the Vande Bharat Express.
