Longest expressway of Maharashtra Shaktipeeth will be a Game changer?

Maharashtra Shaktipeeth, The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has reached a significant milestone with the completion of the land survey for the upcoming Shaktipeeth Expressway that will connect Nagpur and Goa. Kailash Jadhav, Joint Managing Director of MSRDC, has announced that the land acquisition and compensatory processes will begin soon.

Reduce Travel Time

The Nagpur-Goa expressway will provide a direct link between the two destinations, reducing travel time from 21 hours to 11 hours. Covering a total distance of 800 km and passing through 12 districts, the expressway not only serves as an infrastructure development project but also includes Hindu pilgrimage sites such as Parli Vaijnath and Aundh Naganath (Nageshwar) in the Hingoli district.

Shaktipeeth Expressway Geographical Coverage

Furthermore, the expressway will connect various religious sites including Mahur Renu Devi temple, Tuljabhavani in Tuljapur, Vitthal Rakhumai temple of Pandharpur, Mahalaxmi temple of Kolhapur, and Goa’s Patradevi temple, making these destinations more accessible.

Cost to build Shaktipeeth Expressway

With an estimated cost of Rs 86,000 crore, Longest expressway of Maharashtra Shaktipeeth the Nagpur-Goa expressway is designed to boost tourism in the region. The completion of the land survey is a crucial step towards the development of this transformative infrastructure project.

The Nagpur-Goa Shaktipeeth Expressway, approved by the Maharashtra Government led by Eknath Shinde, will span 760 kilometers with six lanes, connecting Nagpur to Goa. Passing through 11 districts in Maharashtra and one district in Goa, the expressway will traverse Vidarbha, Marathwada, and Western Maharashtra, linking with other major expressways and national highways to enhance transportation infrastructure.
